About Story Metro

Story Metro is a subscription service for clean ebooks and audiobooks. Subscribers get unlimited access to a curated catalog of books and audiobooks for a single monthly price. Read in any modern web browser, or listen on iOS and Android.

Story Metro is operated by Story Metro LLC, a limited liability company organized in the State of Utah and based in Vineyard, Utah, United States.

Every title on Story Metro is provided by an author, publisher, or other rights holder under a written distribution agreement with Story Metro LLC. Story Metro is a licensed subscription service — we do not host content that has been uploaded by anonymous users, and we do not redistribute material that is not licensed to us.

Most titles come to us in one of two ways: directly from independent authors who apply to publish on the platform, or through partnerships with small and mid-size publishing imprints. In both cases the rights holder reviews and signs our standard distribution agreement before any title is made available to readers.

Story Metro applies a content standard we call Clean Reads. Every title on the platform is reviewed against this standard before it is published, and authors agree to the standard as part of their distribution agreement. The standard excludes explicit sexual content, graphic violence, gratuitous profanity, and material that glorifies illegal activity, self-harm, or abuse. We are not the right platform for every reader, and we are not trying to be. We are building for readers who want to be able to recommend any title in their library to someone they care about without a second thought.

A Story Metro subscription is $9.99 per month. Subscribers get unlimited reading and listening across the entire catalog while their subscription is active — there are no per-title charges, no rental windows, and no separate audiobook credits.

Anyone can preview the first 10% of any ebook, or the first two tracks of any audiobook, without a subscription. This lets you see whether a book or narrator is right for you before you sign up. Subscribe at reader.storymetro.com/account.

If you are an author or rights holder, you can apply to publish on Story Metro on our For Authors page. We review every application personally and follow up within a few business days. Authors keep ownership of their work and remain free to sell or distribute it through other channels.
